Guajimico offers 14 dive sites in the vicinity of the resort at 10 - 15 minutes from shore. Scuba diving takes place twice a day, one morning dive returning to shore for lunch and one afternoon dive. The two dive boats accommodate 20 and 30 pax each. Dive gear is available for rent. Tanks and weights are provided for those who bring their own equipment at no charge. for those who want to combine diving with sightseeing and trekking
the Cuban countryside.
Guajimico
is a tranquil and special diving area. Nestling
in a small sandy cove - backed by the Escambray Mountains,
Guajimico is a place where you can get away from everything
- and at the same time experience some excellent diving. Whilst
diving in this area you will see a huge variety of colourful
and pristine corals including those of the star, lettuce and
cactus variety, plus many sponges. The fish life in this area
includes French and grey Angel fish, barracuda, blue damsels,
snappers and groupers.
Villa Guajimico is the ideal destination for those who want
to combine scuba diving with sightseeing and exploring the
Cuban country side and its historical cities like the neo-classical
Cienfuegos or the Spanish colonial UNESCO World Heritage city
of Trinidad.
Excursions behind pool path snakes uphill, passes through
two sets of caves and then continues to a hidden bay with crystal
clear water and tiny beach -only access to beach is to swim
there. A ladder gets you into the water. Non divers visitors
usually take a boat out to Cayo Blanco for half day excursion
including freshly caught lobster lunch, lying on beach, snorkeling
and diving if wanted. Tourism desk also offers trekking excursions
to Topes de Collantes and sightseeing to Cienfuegos and Trinidad.
